Precious Cargo Baby Shower
What is a baby, but precious cargo!
I love decorating parties and adding that special touch. Before I became a mother, I always dreamed of one day being that creative fun Mom having beautiful parties for her kids. And sure enough, my wish came true. I have been decorating my children’s parties for the past 5 years.
For this particular event, I was a little too excited because it was my first shower for someone that meant the world to me, my baby sister. She is expecting her first child and I wanted this to be something beautiful. I thought the theme Precious Cargo would be perfect for her baby boy. I happened to have a few vintage airplanes from my own son’s bedroom décor proceeded to plan the party around the red vintage flyers. I added teal for that beautiful pop of color and Voila! The theme was born.
I had the red and teal theme in my head and was speechless when I saw the paper goods from I Heart To Party. It was absolutely perfect, and just what I needed for the theme. I added blue food coloring to the water as I had trouble finding the exact size of vintage blue mason jars, and we drove to the oh-so-popular flower district of Los Angeles and picked out fresh florals for the centerpieces. Everyone contributed to this beautiful event, even my little brother who loves making paper planes, so I put some extra cardstock to use and had him make me some airplanes to put on the tables.
The guests were impressed by the rustic set-up provided by Party Pieces by Perry. The farm table and suitcases added just the right touch of vintage style, as well as the pops of color from her collection of red and blue books. The most delicious elements of the event were from my three close friends. Rosario from Sugar Studio created adorable cake pops and oreos. Her apples and cupcakes in a jar were such a big hit. Judith from Oh My Sweets did a wonderful job of creating cupcakes and toppers to suit the theme. And oh my, THAT cake! I just fell in love with Luz’s creation instantly. I mean, who didn’t?
There was a Check-in Station for Well Wishes and Advice, as well as a Customs Declaration table for the gifts. It was imperative to have the guests have an activity for the shower, and having a Onesie Station was perfect! The guests were able to write and decorate onesies for the precious little cargo on the ironing board provided by Party Pieces by Perry.
Oh what fun! The soon-to-be parents were definitely very happy and we are all awaiting the safe delivery of their oh-so-precious cargo!
